DEPARTMENT OF CLINICAL MEDICINE AND COMMUNITY HEALTH
This program trains students to become frontline healthcare providers capable of diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions. It includes:
- Clinical rotations in surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics, and general medicine
- Training in public health, community outreach, and emergency medicine
- Internship and supervised field practice
General Objectives
The objective of the training is to produce competent Clinical Medicine & Community Health professionals who undertake primitive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services including management and implementation of PHC services compatible to the needs of the population.
Specific Objectives
The Specific objective of the program is to produce competent graduates capable of;
- Assessing community health needs and prioritize identified problems.
- Intervening on the identified health and health related problems of the community.
- Promoting health, preventing and controlling disease.
- Providing curative and rehabilitative health services
- Leading health services and health offices.
- Undertaking operational and problem solving researches

Program Requirements
- Admission Requirement
- Meet the admission requirement of Global Science University.
- Physically and mentally fit for Clinical Medicine & Community Health service.
- Graduation Requirement
- A student cannot graduate with a grade of less than 2.0 out of the 5-scale grading system.
- Student should score “C” grade and above in all core courses.
- The student shall score a pass mark (³50%) on the final comprehensive qualifying exam on core courses. Failure to pass will result in delay for one to three months and take re-exam. The students shall fill the identified gaps.
- Degree Nomenclature
- Up on successful completion of the program the degree of Bachelor of Science in Clinical Medicine & Community Health will be awarded.

PROGRAM DURATION
The overall midwifery program is a five (5) year program. This is split into six hour/day for six days of a week covering both classroom and clinical practice sessions totaling thirty-six hours per week of teaching and practice.

Intake calendar
Global Science University intake starts at Fist August each year and closes at September. Our academic year calendar is split into two semesters with the first semester spanning between September and January. The second semester starts in February and ends in June.
